COVID-19: Franklin Graham Urges Pastors, Churches To Obey Authority In Order To Protect Lives

undefined
Evangelist Franklin Graham
Speaking on a show with conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, evangelist Franklin Graham encouraged pastors in the United States to obey those in authority to protect themselves and others from the COVID-19 disease while continuing to do what God has called them to do.

“We don’t slow down,” said Graham, president and CEO of Samaritan’s Purse, when Shapiro, the Daily Wire founder, asked how he, his family and organization are doing during the new coronavirus pandemic.

Shapiro also asked Graham about his perspective on state and local governments deeming churches to be non-essential and shutting them down due to the social distance rules in place. What are Christians supposed to do, as it’s Easter Sunday?

“We need to obey those in authority. That’s what the Bible teaches,” responded Graham, son of the late evangelical leader Billy Graham. “The churches are not shut down,” he continued. “I think more people are attending online services than they did when they were meeting in person.”

Graham emphasized that the Church “needs to continue to be the Church.”

“But I’d just encourage pastors across the country to obey those that are in authority. And I think that’s what the congregations would expect us to do,” he said, calling the virus very infectious and deadly. “Especially for those who have underlying health issues, this could be a death sentence,” he added.

Graham cautioned that Christians should not stop “the work that God has called us to do.”

We just need to do things differently, he explained. We need to be careful; “practicing social distancing is wise.”

He shared that Samaritan’s Purse has sent dozens of healthcare professionals to Italy, “which is not receiving help from anywhere in the world.”

As of early Sunday, there were a little less than 1.8 million confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus and 108, 902 deaths around the world, according to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center.

In the United States, there were more than 530,000 cases with 20,608 deaths.

In Italy, 19,468 deaths from COVID-19 have occurred. Last month, Samaritan’s Purse opened a 68-bed emergency field hospital in northern Italy to help the medical system as it struggles to deal with the coronavirus.

Graham said his organization works in the name of Jesus so that those who are served would know that God cares for them and has not turned His back on them.

Graham shared that Samaritan’s Purse recently set up a team also in New York, where 8,627 people have died from the new coronavirus.

Graham added that the group loves and serves everyone, no matter who they are, and provides the best possible medical care.

Asked about concerns some people have expressed on social media about Samaritan’s Purse being a Christian organization which believes in traditional marriage and is pro-life, Graham said his group shows the same love and compassion to gay and transgender people if they have coronavirus and need help.

We are Christian; we are not equal opportunity employer, he clarified. The doctors and nurses are all Christians, he added. “What motivates us is our faith in Jesus Christ.”

In February, the Scottish Event Campus and other facilities canceled events planned by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, which Graham heads, for a summer visit to the U.K. due to his biblical view on homosexuality.

Graham said that “the blowback is not against me, it’s against God.”

The Bible teaches that marriage is between a man and a woman, he explained. “That’s what I believe,” he said and added that he doesn’t compromise with his religious beliefs and will not change them.

Earlier this month, Dr. K. Elliott Tenpenny, a medical doctor leading the Samaritan’s Purse coronavirus response at a field hospital in Central Park in New York, said Americans need to treat the coronavirus as “a serious disease.”

“This is not something to think this is the end of the world, but it is not something that’s also to dismiss,” Tenpenny told The Christian Post at the site of the field hospital Thursday. “It’s serious. It’s a serious disease. It’s not the end of the world. We’re going to make it through this, but it is serious and anyone that says differently I don’t believe they’re speaking truthfully.”

New Deliverance Evangelistic Church’s Bishop G.O. Glenn has died of COVID-19 complications, church leaders announced Easter Sunday.
By: WTVR CBS 6 Web StaffPosted at 10:39 AM, Apr 12, 2020 and last updated 5:00 PM, Apr 12, 2020
RICHMOND, Va. — Bishop G.O. Glenn has died of complications from COVID-19, New Deliverance Evangelistic Church officials announced during Easter Sunday services.

“It is with an exceedingly sorrowful and heavy heart that I come to you this morning, and regret to inform you that on last night, April the 11th at 9 p.m., our father Bishop Gerald Glenn transitioned from labor to reward,” Elder Bryan Nevers said.

Church leaders said funeral plans “in the season a social distancing” would be released in the coming days. See the twit below. https://twitter.com/CBS6/status/1249349562940174337?s=19

“Saints, don’t stop praying,” Nevers said. “Our Bishop has always told us, as they wheeled him into the operating room, he will proclaim that God is still a healer. We now have a duty to embrace one another in the love of Jesus.”

Church leaders thanked the community on behalf of the family for their love, support and prayers “as we now walk down this path together.”

“Love on each other, Saints,” Nevers said.

The news comes one week after the church announced Glenn and Mother Marcietia Glenn tested positive for COVID-19.

Mar-Gerie Crawley, the couple’s daughter, said last Sunday that family members noticed their parents were having health issues and started searching for ways to treat their symptoms at home — especially her dad.

“He has diverticulitis, so it’s not uncommon for him to get fevers or you know virus or sinus infection,” Crawley explained.

With in a week, Crawley said Bishop Glenn’s health worsened after trips to to urgent care and the emergency room.

“The next day he was very lethargic, so my mom decided that evening, once his breathing became labored, she took him back and at that point they kept him,” Crawley said. “They did the COVID-19 test on him and we got it back that day and it was positive.”

Crawley said her father’s breathing improved once doctors began treating him with a ventilator.

Bishop Glenn’s services air Sundays at 8:30 a.m. on WTVR CBS 6.

“I firmly believe that God is larger than this dreaded virus,” Bishop Glenn said in a March 22 sermon, which aired last week.

Glenn delivered that message just one day before the state officially banned gatherings of 10 or more people, but officials had been urging social distancing.

Crawley said that sermon, where more than 10 people were gathered, was held to support to those who were scared and was not meant to defy the state order.

However, Crawley said she is now urging everyone to stay home.

“It becomes very real to you,” she said. “I just beg people to understand the severity and the seriousness of this, because people are saying it’s not just about us, it’s about everyone around us.”

Crawley is thankful for the support from the community.

“It’s not an easy situation, but the people that are standing with us makes it a little bit more easy to get through it,” Crawley said.

Missionary Danny Jones Family Recovering Well After Testing Positive Of Coronavirus, Praise God

Missionary Danny Jones, His Wife Rachel And 3 Children
Missionary Danny Jones, His Wife Rachel And 3 Children
Bro. Danny Jones, Missionary to Thailand at Westwood Missionary Baptist Church who was in critical condition after testing positive from COVID-19, is recovering well from the virus.

Danny’s whole family was also seriously sick as his wife Rachel and three daughters contacted the virus, but thank God, the whole family is strong and rescovering very well.

Charlie R Ellison, a Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church and Chaplain at Deer Park Police Department, in an earlier post, shared Missionary Jones’ condition on his Facebook timeline, where he said that the missionary’s condition worsened to the point he has been hospitalized.

Charlie also revealed that Bro. Danny’s whole family was seriously sick as his wife Rachel and three daughters have contacted the virus as well, hence, asking for prayers from around the world for the healing of this precious brother.

Danny Jones was the first in his family to test positive for coronavirus after returning from a trip to Israel in the middle of March.

Missionary Danny Jones was the co-leader of a March trip to Israel. The Westwood Missionary Baptist Church member didn’t think he’d get COVID-19 when he embarked on the trip March 8,

“Please take this seriously,” Jones said. “I’m going to spend a very long time just thinking about how I could have stayed away from my family and not given it to them.”

Jones was also been diagnosed with pneumonia and has been running a fever for 24 days, but he felt well enough to speak with 8 On Your Side through Zoom Friday night to thank everyone who has prayed for his family and to emphasize the need to not underestimate the virus.

“I would say that just a couple days ago I couldn’t do this interview,” Jones said.

The symptoms started for the member of the Westwood Missionary Baptist Church in Winter Haven when he got home on March 18 from the Holy Land.

“Upset stomach, diarrhea, a low grade fever, which eventually spiked to 103 or a little bit more, the body aches and pains, extreme headaches mainly caused by the coughing,” Jones said listing his symptoms.

Jones said he doesn’t know exactly how he contracted COVID-19 during his flights through New York back to Florida, but he quickly learned the virus is highly contagious.

“My oldest daughter was never in the same room that I was in, but in the same household and I gave it to her somehow or another,” Jones said.

His wife of 21 years, Rachel, and their three daughters ages 10, 13 and 16 have all tested positive.

“My kids spend most of their days in bed really weak, just taking a few steps just completely tires us out,” Jones said.

Jones told 8 On Your Side he’s grateful for the care he received while hospitalized for five days with low oxygen levels.

“I could see fear on people’s faces as I went into the hospital but through all that the nurses and doctors would come into the isolation ward and treat me,” Jones said.

He recalled a conversation with a doctor who visited his hospital bed.

“She said I’m a believer first, a doctor second and I want to pray with you for your and your family,” Jones said.

The Jones’ family story has been shared on their church Facebook page and around the world.
“We’ve been getting thousands of messages every single day from countries all over the world people that are telling us that they’re praying for us,” Jones said.

Jones said his youngest daughter had to be hospitalized for dehydration, but the three of them are starting to feel a little better. He added his wife still has a fever, too.

“I’ve literally coughed until I passed out a couple times,” he added.

Through his family’s fight with coronavirus, Jones has relied on his faith.

undefined“I just have a greater appreciation for what my lord did for me,” he said.
The family’s pastor has dropped off medications and members of their church have delivered hot meals and they plan to do that again on Easter Sunday.

Covid 19: UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson discharged from hospital

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery from COVID-19 at his country residence of Chequers, his office has said.

“On the advice of his medical team, the PM will not be immediately returning to work. He wishes to thank everybody at St Thomas’ for the brilliant care he has received,” a spokesperson said.

Johnson, 55, was taken to St Thomas’ Hospital in central London on April 5, after suffering from persistent symptoms of the disease caused by the new coronavirus.

On April 6, he was moved into intensive care, where he remained until April 9.

In his first public statement since he left hospital, Johnson said he owes his life to the National Health Service (NHS) staff who treated him.

“It is hard to find the words to express my debt to the NHS for saving my life,” he said in a video address published on his official Twitter channel on Saturday.

He also thanked the public for their effort to stay indoors to slow the spread of COVID-19.

“The efforts of millions of people across this country to stay home are worth it. Together we will overcome this challenge, as we have overcome so many challenges in the past,” Johnson said.

While he convalesces, Johnson has asked Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab to handle the nation’s response to the pandemic.

Britain has been in effective lockdown since March 23 and the government is set to extend the restrictions sometime this week.

Coronavirus: Hulk Hogan Says ‘God Has Taken Away Everything That Humans Worship’ He Urge Fans To Seek The Face of God

undefined
Celebrity wrestler Hulk Hogan relayed some of his spiritual insight pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic, asserting that perhaps God might be making people rethink their values.

In a Facebook post on Monday, Hogan featured a photo of himself praying up against a wall in unison with a caption of biblical proportions. Recalling the plagues of Egypt, which were designed to humiliate the pagan deities, Hogan said that our modern “gods,” from sports to celebrity to money, have been taken from us by this pandemic.

“In three short months, just like He did with the plagues of Egypt, God has taken away everything we worship,” Hogan began. “God said, ‘you want to worship athletes, I will shut down the stadiums. You want to worship musicians, I will shut down Civic Centers. You want to worship actors, I will shut down theaters. You want to worship money, I will shut down the economy and collapse the stock market. You don’t want to go to church and worship Me, I will make it where you can’t go to church.”

Hogan then quoted scripture: “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Concluding his post, Hogan said that people should take this time of isolation to discover what truly matters.

“Maybe we don’t need a vaccine, maybe we need to take this time of isolation from the distractions of the world and have a personal revival where we focus on the ONLY thing in the world that really matters. Jesus,” his post concluded. Here is the Facebook link below

Coronavirus: Apostle Johnson Suleiman’s Prophesy About Coronavirus

undefinedApostle Johnson Suleiman the General Overseer of omega fire ministries worldwide, during the march Friday vigil revealed the truth behind covid-19 and the agenda of some of the world power to create a new order. In a 5 mins message, the servant of God revealed what was going to happen and here is what he said.

“The lord said I gave this world to man and as such I don’t do anything in the world until man invites me with understanding in the place of prayer. The nation in question (China) has sinned greatly against the Lord. They wanted to make thier own moon shine brighter than the natural moon. Their power tussle is between a particular nation and they want to bring that nation under their feet.

“Covid-19 is an experiment and they are happy that they could shake the world and they would wait for another two years. In 2022 if I tarry to come, something worse will still come and it will originate from them.undefined

“The world leaders are coming together to make a synergy that will make all religions have a common ground and the pope is part of it. America is thier target but the current president Donald Trump is their obstacle. America should not joke with the next general elections as they will all support the opponent.

“The opponent is not the issue but his running mate is the issue. The running mate is a lady and If the opponent wins, the opponent will be impeached for the lady to take over and fulfill the new world order.

“Their agenda is to humiliate him(Trump). They have succeeded in humiliating him while they are free from it but the prayer of the saints will reverse it and America will be healed. The virus was manufactured by this people (China) it is not a biological issue, it is a chemical weapon.

“Many people contacted it through testing, once you go for the test you are infected. The few that are not positive is to balance the equation and make people believe it is real.

“The vaccine will come, but the vaccine will carry the actual disease. It is loaded with signals to control the human body by sending signals from the body to their data base, that would be the only proof to them that you are safe, virus free and you are not contaminated.

“When they tell you to take the vaccine and you refuse, you’ll be denied alot of things. Italy was sacrificed for this agenda because the pope is a part of this that is why we saw almost the largest cases in Italy it was not coincidence, it was a sacrifice.

“The policy of not having people gather together to reduce and contain the virus is targeted at disrupting the believers from gathering to pray because they know when believers gather together to pray thier plans and agenda will end up in futility we must not keep quiet as the prayers of the saints will stop them.

“All believers must lift up thier voice against the spirit of the new world order and scatter the agenda of the anti christ. They will come up with a new currency to unify the world and solidify control. Purify your body of any sin because they target your body.

“They have tried this and it has worked. By June to August different agenda to unify the world will begin. Kuwait, Malaysia, Egypt, Singapore, hongkong, Thailand, Madagascar, Saudi Arabia, America, needs special prayers.

“If the church can pray using Jeremiah 17:14, Matthew 17:14, the anti christ will not over come the church. If the church rise up in unity, purity and prayers then God will rise up and prove that he is still on the throne.

Coronavirus is making people more open to the Gospel than ever –

undefinedHoly Trinity Brompton pastor Nicky Gumbel and his wife Pippa are seeing an unprecedented openness to the Gospel during the coronavirus lockdown.

During an online Easter conference hosted by Rick Warren on Facebook, Gumbel spoke of the opportunities for the Gospel he’s seeing in the midst of the crisis.

“I’ve never known a time in my life when people are more open [to the Gospel] than they are now,” he said.

“There are no other distractions. There’s not football, there’s no sport. There’s no entertainment and people have time to hear the Gospel.”

He went on to call on the Church to ensure it does not let these opportunities pass by.

“People who would have never gone to church, the church is coming to them in their homes,” he said.

“People who would never have explored faith are coming to explore faith online. This is the most extraordinary time. This is not a moment to retreat, this is a moment for the Kingdom of God to advance.”

Pippa agreed as she spoke of the fear and isolation that the lockdown had caused for many people, with all sense of normality now gone.

“The good news of Jesus is never more needed,” she said.

“People feel as though everything has been taken from them and they are looking, like people were looking for Jesus when He was taken from them.”

Also joining in the broadcast was Bishop TD Jakes, pastor of the Potter’s House megachurch in Dallas, who recalled the peace Jesus had while in the boat during a storm.

He prayed that people experiencing anxiety because of the outbreak would know this peace.

“Nothing that is current in our news is shocking in Heaven. But You have a plan and You have a purpose, and that you orchestrate all things to the council of your own will,” he prayed.

Hillsong pastor Brian Houston noted how the global Church is having to adapt to the unprecedented changes thrown up by the pandemic.

“These are challenging days, no doubt about it, for the world. I’ve never seen anything quite like it,” he said.

“Who would have thought even just a month ago that at Easter all of us would be being innovative, coming up with new ways to take the Gospel out to thousand, [and] between us all millions.”

The UK has been in lockdown since March 23 and church buildings, like other public spaces, have been closed. As of Wednesday, there were over 55,000 cases in the UK, while more than 6,000 people have lost their lives.

Worldwide, the total confirmed cases is approaching 1.5 million, with 83,000 deaths. The US has the highest recorded number of cases, at over 400,000.

After a day in the ICU, the 40-year-old pastor posted a series of video to emphasize the severity of the disease and requesting that people heed the government advice and stay home.

“This coronavirus is deadly,” he said, drawing short, labored breaths. “Coronavirus wants to kill you, it wants to take all the life out of your lungs.”

McClurg then went on to talk about his love for the local church community that has been holding him up in prayer.

“What I’ve loved over the last week is that my church family has been praying for me. Thank you so much for praying,” he said.

“I belong to Jesus, I believe in Jesus, I love Jesus. I give him all the glory right now. Lord Jesus Christ — not only my saviour — he’s my healer. He’s real.”

While fighting for his life in the hospital, Mark still managed to share a message of hope to his viewers. On a video, he shared a scripture from Isaiah 26:20 saying that this virus will pass.

“Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until the fury has passed by.” -Isaiah 26:20.

“This is an encouragement to stay inside for a little while,” McClurg implored. “Coronavirus will pass, but you must stay in.”

On Sunday, Mark joyfully announced that he had overcome the coronavirus and was discharged from the hospital.

“I want to thank everyone for their prayers,” he tweeted. “I want to thank the staff at the Ulster Hospital for saving my life. [I’m] looking forward to enjoying life. Overcome #Coronavirus. Be kind. Jesus is my healer.”
